I've had an after market rear door on the landy from some time after the oringinal rotted away.
I've also just purchased a rear wiper motor, and the wiring off ebay, and i'm planning on fitting this to the door.
The wiring loom bit is easy as it all seems to be plug and play, and will also allow me to finally connect up the heatted rear window as well.

My main problem however is that I have no idea where to drill the hole in the door. I assume from photos I found here and elsewhere that I goes through the main mettal beam under the glass, but if anybody has the exact measurment as to the distance in from the sides of the door it would help me a lot as I am planning on putting a door card on the inside with the motor cover, but this hasn't got to me yet and i'd like it to fit in the right place!

Its the old style motor with the single four pin round plug connector on it.

There are also two screws brackets on the side of the motor - which I assume from their nature (i.e. self tappers) is to secure the plastic cover over it? There is also a hole with a rubber grommet with a brass liner in it half way down the motor. I assume this is for some type of peg/bolt to go through (to stop the motor turing in the hole i'm going to be drilling in the door for the shaft) which I guess is not fitted to my door?

Any help/photos/measurments would be most helpful

James

Is there not a hole through the main steel beam just under the window glass?
You can see it on this picture, it's the bigger hole left of centre.

The wiper motor spindle goes through there.

I figgured that, however on my aftermarket door there is no hole in the beam under the glass or the beam under that.

I assume the hole in the small link beam below the one with the big hole in is threaded to take a bolt through the rubber grommet on the wiper motor.

Could you do me a favour and measure the distance between the center of the hole for the motor spindle and the edge of the door from wither the outside, or the outside edge of the main beam that the hindge bolts go through?

Sorry for late reply, been out working on the Landy since first thing. Raining now, so had to take a forced break.
I've measured from the inside radius of the two vertical steel frame sections to the centre of the hole. The hole is 22mm diameter.
So, the shorter distance is 305mm and the longer distance is 505mm

Hope this helps. The rain has stopped so I'm off out again. :D
