Rear window

Picked up our 2003, 3 door freelander today & so far am well chuffed. Been exploring all the buttons working out what does what, anyway tried the rear window. This is either fully opened or completely closed. Is that normal or should they be able to inch up or inch down?

Any advice would be appreciated

it will only stay put on the way down (when you release the switch)

if you try to stop it while it's going up it will automatically wind itself back down again
