Well done I think you've found the problem :), maybe you now need this:

FREELANDER TAILGATE WINDOW REGULATOR REPAIR KIT | eBay

I haven't done this repair yet so not quite sure what I'm looking at. But it sort of looks like the big plastic endy thing has broken so the repair kit would fix that at a guess.

The plastic bit literally flopped off when I went to have a look (little moving of wires to see if anyting was loose). I can't see anything caught on anything else.. but then I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking for!!!

I'm quite proud I even managed to get the trim off lol.

Also it looks a bit damp inside that area.. is that normal?

You did well. Not sure about the damp, probably fairly common but it might be worth cleaning the window seals. Just make sure there is no water in the boot floor cubby.

Could it be that this part has just fallen out of somewhere? I'm not really sure what it's meant to be joined to. But it had dropped out when I started having a look

One other thing... can I carry on using my FL with the boot panel and insulation off? It's my only car!!!

Gonna try bodge the window up now, then order a repair kit and cross my fingers it arrives tomorrow!

Yeh you should be alright :). Just as long as you can get the window up.

Me neither, sorry !

:( I'm doomed.

Anyone else know how to bodge the back window up temporarily?! If I pulle dit up then wedged it with a bit of wood or something wiuld that work? no idea how I'm gonna do that with the boot shut.

ARGH

the window sits in some holders i think with a 10mm bolt undo them lift the windo up use some strong tape to hold the window up while u use some wood inside the door to jam it up... will work until ur new regulator or repair kit arrives
