Rear wheel steering

While off roading today I broke the rear trailing arm bracket off the back axle of my rangie so ended up with a steering back axle so i could not drive it and had to be brought home (again) by recovery truck, best 21 quids worth ive ever spent.What i would like to know is can a new bracket be welded onto the back axle and will it have to be made or can you buy the bracket. If you want a lot of fun, fit a FRONT axle on the back of the Disco!
Rig up some steering ....

when I were a lad, a group of us built a 4 wheel steering mini as part of our "A" level engineering project.
it even got us on the telly - Magpie, October 1978.

me too!
i think me mum's still got some photos up in her loft, but they sure as hell aint digital!

we came 3rd in the BP Build-A-Car competition, which meant that we got to go to the REME test track at Bordon and drive a range of vehicles - including a Chieftan tank! at 18, that was pretty cool.

come down to devon to edorc trials and you may see a real 88" v8 4 wheel steer trialer

tis "up" to Devon from here!

Drove rangie down today (about half a mile) to garage to have bracket welded on, well both as I ordered two as the other is bound to follow suite and hell what a drive i ended up with half a turn of lock on just to keep car heading forward,my mate who was behind me said it was the strangest sight and I dont think the police were too impressed either as they turned round at the end of the duel carrigway to find me but I just managed to turn into the garage which was a bit of luck.So now just waiting for both brackets to be done and Im back off roading again !
