Ok, picked up a rear view camera as the in-law wasn't so happy about rear visibility (kids walking out and so on, I can see her point).

It's all simple enough, attach camera and monitor, run video wire then hook it into the 12v wiring, my question is where would be best? Our has the full-length console with all the electrics above the seats so should I hook it into the courtesy light/sun roof electrics? If not, what is recommended?

I'm not the best at electrics, will it still be always on if it is hooked into the reverse or would it only be coming on when she hits reverse?

Around here I think we'd be better with it always on. LOTS of idiots on mopeds and
as much as we may dislike them we would rather not be wiping them off the bumper
just because they were playing stupid tailgating games and hiding behind the spare
wheel...

are you allowed to have it on all the time?
I was always led to believe having any type of monitor screen in front was illegal, as it can distract you when driving

That's a nice mod but I have no shortage of places to mount the camera and the monitor, that's not a problem at all, just getting thoughts on where I need to wire it in so it's always on when the power is on.

As to illegality of having a display on...what is a satnav then? ;)

sure, but most sat navs talk to you, thus your eye just flicks on it for a second, but watching scooter boys near your rear whilst driving, I reckon is slightly different
if they are behind you, its not your problem (when your going forward) me personally, I'd slam the breaks on for that cat that run out, after all, the driver/rider behind should know his stopping distances shouldn't he

Because not everyone likes to have a scooter as an included optional extra
on their bumper and so on...the macho bollocks is nice guys, smelling the
testosterone in here nicely but I'm not here to see who can **** highest
up the wall.

So assuming ya driving along and notice some moron on ya arse on his suped up hairdrier? WTF are ya gonna be able to do about it?? Put ya foot down and speed?? or slow right down and **** off everyone else behind you.

ya idea is ****e and a complete waste of time money and effort. and will prob cause far more problems than it will solve.

Well...if seeing behind us is so useless perhaps we should remove all these daft mirrors then as they just make everything look untidy anyway and after all seeing behind us is so entirely useless. Heck let's block some windows up and create MORE blindspots instead of trying to remove one eh?

Sounds good to me. I stuck Mantec window guards, on me rear windows then fitted a swingaway wheel carrier. attached me spare wheel to it then bolted an hi-lift jack to it anorl. Can't see fook all out of rear. But I still manage to park it in carparks or crowded streets, without crashing into anyone. Managed to get into a spot, on Monday that left me with 6" behind and about a foot in front. and Wheels were tight against Kerb.

If you can drive then ya don't need fook all to Assist ya.. Of course if ya a knob who drives like a woman, That'd be reason enough to want a reversing camera.. Still doesn't explain why you'd wanna have it working whilst driving forwards

Why are you trying so hard to turn this into a ****ing contest
when it would not affect you in the least? Even if you did manage
to convert me to your way of thinking like some modern day hitler
what would it really do to improve your life?

A simple question was asked and all you are giving off is "macho man"
indoctrination rubbish, what...really...is the point?

As to your parking, well done, you can park as I should hope pretty much
everyone here can.

/sigh.
