well ive been under the car all day:(but good news is i,ve discovered the nasty clunk i,m getting is coming from anywhere between rear prop u/j,the diff or whatever in the rear axle.without the prop connected thers no clunk so i,m not sure whether its the prop or diff side and the props just exagerating the noise (being mostly hollow).question is what can go wrong between these points?cheers

a-frame balljoints just been done, bushes look ok,noise seems to be coming from u/j but i,ve taken prop off and it seems to move freely.what sits behind the flange on the diff?bearing maybe?p.s i,ve got a new u/j and tried changing yesterday but circlips are snaping when i try to remove is there a knack to this?any tips.thanks

fooook it.i,ve just taken the car out with the rear prop taken out hoping my clunks gone well bo----ks to it,its even worse, now it sounds like its coming from the transfer box:eek:anyone live near brum who knows what they are doing?because i,m throwing the towel in and taking my bike out for a ride:)
