cant even hear a relay clicking
any help much appreciated

Check fuse f14 (10 amp) and inhibitor switch as well.

The tailgate window motor is controlled by the multifunction control module so would be worth getting it scanned to see if commands are being seen by the module.

The fact that the window moves when you open the door means the module is seeing a signal from the door switch and commanding motor to move the window. So motor will be ok and module is likely to be ok.

Try dissconecting yer battery [make sure you have your radio code :)] give it 20 secs of dissconection and on reconection window should drive down, with all doors shut drive it fully up using man up switch till fully home, then open taildoor with the silly drop down system ,do this three times , then try man switch down and up :)

try holding the up part of the switch if nothing then try the down part of it.. Mine would go down whilst pressing the up part & up whilst pressing the down part.. strange i know but it might be a simple calibration problem. doing what ming says will/should re-calibrate it..

failing that,

I'd take the rear door cover off m8 & feel inside the 2 steel runners cause this sounds like you could have either a cable snapped or frayed strands of cable stopping it from working correctly.. This is what happened to me & i ended up replacing the whole regulator then i disconnected the battery for 5 mins, after re-connecting it i pressed the down switch holding it in until i got 3 bleeps then raised the window fully & it's worked fine ever since for me..

hope this helps..
