Rear diff wont turn after fitting new flange

Hello again guys.

So my discovery 1 300tdi was splitting the rotorflex joint after i lifted it by 2", so decided to replace the rear propshaft with a UJ one from island 4x4. It came with a new flange for the rear diff, but while i was tightening the flange up onto the splines it was locking up the diff and making it very hard to turn. is this right? Its a long flange so i shouldnt need a spacer.

Anyone got any ideas please????

is it the same lenght as came out ? is the mud shield different ,later mud shield jams on earler seal

The new flange is shorter than the one that came out. Ive already changed the oil seal and the mud guard seems to be fine.

Ok thanks. I thought it needed a spacer as well but when i asked island 4x4 they seemed to think it didnt!

without spacer mudshiels will jam on seal and diff housing if fitting shorter flange

I did the same after a 2 in lift fitted 200 flange on 300 diff, had to remove it and fit a spacer.
