i think we are getting a bit old Hippo for these new fangeld things or is it just me
I int that old. Just wondering about the kit he used. I bought genuine LR parts when changing mine. Had some s'part ones turn up from online and sent them back. Front one is the same price at LR dealers as online but you can find good rear ones cheaper than LR dealer. I was just wondering how they compared with being polybush type stuff. I always thought the flex in the originals was to remove shocks.

You trying to tell me it gets worse?:D
Some of us have suffered, shorry owned Freelanders for many tears. It just becomes a way of life after a while. Fixing them that is.

sorry hippo about the age only it seems as though I have been on here forever yet it is only relly a short while. I have just remembered while reading this I have a full set of diff mounts and a dif that I was going to put them on my old car i will have to put them on fleebay

are you sure its the front mount as the lasnd rover dealer i spoke to today saod itd the rear mount that goes the most and is the one they ALWAYS keep in stock as it is always the first to wear out???

Soits defo best to change front bush first befroe replacing other 2 then????

I had mine done and it sorted it. Though I'm probably going to look into the polybushes too at some point because I have no self control whatsoever . Oh and I see you're newish here, welcome :).

It was rears on mine! Front was obviously newer so had been changed before I got it! Sooooo it could be either! My advice don't expect a magic answer get under it and check em for splits;)

Both front and rear split. The original rears int that strong. Aftermarket ones are made stronger which would suggest someone somewhere may know something. It's more luck than anything if they fail or not. The front (centre) mount is always popular due to it being the one that causes the most noticeable noise when it fails. I changed all 3 on mine so it was sorted for many years to come. Rears split in a circle around the rubber edge. Will make more sense when you look at them. Ere's the front one failed:
