Hi, garage have phoned me today to tell me the rear axle casing is in a bad way, filler on top of filler etc, I'm struggling to find many places that just do a new casing, I don't really want to change the whole axle, has anyone got any suggestions as to where to find them, and how big a job is it in £££ to replace.

Thanks

Where has it actually gone? You can replace the axle pan easily enough

You can replace the complete axle more easily than the diff pan, and with a used axle usually costing less than a ton it would probably be cheaper too with the added benefit of being able to choose the best bits of both, making it the way forward in my mind

I'm sure that a good replacement casing wouldn't cost much. 4 years ago I bought a practically new axle case for 80 euro. It should cost significantly less than that in the UK. Removing the existing axle, swapping all the bits over and refitting took some 6 hours. I had rebuilt the axle 7 months, therefore had no problems to deal with, no seized bolts, etc but you should be able to do the job in a day single handed.
