Hi I need advice urgently. Have just changed my injectors but in the process of re fitting the inlet manifold I dislodge one of the rubber orange sleeves a thin metal washer from the lower set of stud holes. I fear its has gone down the inlet pipe into the head. Using an endorscope I cant see the thing and the head of the valve OK. the valve is in the open position. The rubber collar is about 12mm dia and 14mm long. Is the valve opening large enough for the item to pass though? If its sitting on the piston crown will it burn away if I run he engine? Sorry to be a panicy about this but a head removal is something I dont want to do because of re timing the valves.

Many hanks for your help

If you have an endoscope and can see it, then you can get long thing cable grippy things like they use in surgery. This will allow you to follow the endoscope in and grip it to pull it out. No idea what they are called but a good tool shop should have something, or even try a surgical supplies shop. You push a button or grip a trigger and a claw comes out the end, when you release they contract again. I had one years ago and very very useful..
