Range Rover Sport TDV8 - Difficult Starter After Several Attempts

Hello,

I have a 2007 TDV8 sport. Runs perfectly on 1st start, and continues to run fine - But once switched off each successive restart takes longer and longer.
Hooking it up to a standard code reader, it reports po191

Any ideas - And would a Land Rover test regime (nano or hawk etc) show more detailed feedback possibly?

That comes up as Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor. Perhaps faulty or poor connection.

Thanks - Would you or anyone know the answer to the following
a - is there 2 on the car being a v8
b - would that be suggesting its faulty or just reading a low pressure at the sensor (ie something else but just low at that point)
c- Does anything ring home with 1st start being instant but longer as you try successive starts (successive starts literally one after the other so little temp difference - eventually of course warmer though)
d - if there is 2, would it not start but struggle until 2nd bank comes in. Note that once started all cylinders running fine

There should only be one rail, therefore one sensor. The fault "could" be the sensor, but perhaps the connectors as they are a known area of interest. In other words, they can get a high resistance due to grot build up.

If it starts initially, but then becomes progressively harder to start, then the pressure readings are getting lower. That does seem to point to the sensor itself.

D is no longer viable

You're welcome. But please have both connections at the sensor and the sensor itself checked. Wiggle the connection and see if that makes any difference. If not, get a live data reading on the pressures at each start.
