Tried driving up an offroad track on my mates farm earlyer but everytime i got to the hill it just started spinning the rear wheels much to his amusement, nothing seems to be happening up front. The track is nothing,I've driven up and down there loads of times in all weathers with no probs in the past and he's even gone up there (at speed) in has old escort:D.looked underneath and nothings missing or no strange noises.we need to try it in some mud really to see what happens but he had to go out and i didn't fancy getting stuck on my own.It does give the impression its now a 2wd!

Tbh i use the car back and forth to work everyday and it rarely go's offroad apart from my mates quad track so i suppose somthing could have been broken for a while. The front prop is all there and turns when you drive.I need to look into this further i think.

You can run em in 2wd cos thy have a viscous coupling. The front drive shaft assembly and ujs are all ok/in place?Does the front diff have any leaks or play in it?

I've been out and checked the front diff, everythings there that should be and theres plenty of oil in it,I think i need to find a suitable place to test it out again.Goonarmy,i've just noticed your quotes from other members:)

Ok,i've put the transfer lever in neutral, jacked up 1 front wheel and can hardly move the raised wheel,I wonder what they mean by some resistance?
