image.jpgHi,

I have a RRC 4.2 v8 which has 2 vacuum pipe coming out from the chamber. One goes into the distributor, but the 2nd one is not going anywhere at the moment, rhe pipe is closed. Where it ahould go?

Also a few questions an 3 electric loose cables/plug whitin the engine bay..
-one small with red plug at the end close to the battery (see pic)
-one with black plug at the washer tank right hand wheel arch
-one cable (white light green) with no at the end on the left wheel arch

Thanks in advance!

Cheers

The second vacuum line runs to the right hand side connection to that thingy that looks like a plastic ball on the wheel arch.

The plug near the expansion tank should plug into a charcoal canister attached the back of expansion tank.

The plug in the second picture should plug into a switch that's near the bonnet hinge.

Not sure about the last item, sorry.

Thanks! I thought the plastic ball (vacuum reservoir) on the left wheel arch should go to the recirculating/fresh air solenoid switch under the chubby box and the other on to te vacuum pump.... Maybe i was wrong... ThanksImageUploadedByTapatalk1407179532.234518.jpg

It is there to absorb fumes from the fuel tank. After the motor has being going a bit, the ECU opens a purge valve and those fumes are sucked into the air intake to be burnt.

hi West Slope Rover,

last question... Where your 2 tubes from the vacuum pump (front right wheel arch, just behind the left front lamp) go?
on mine 1 goes to the break pedal with a side tube to the throttle activator, but no second tube out of the vaccum pump... (so the top outbound outlet is closed at the moment from the pump)

Thanks in advance!

The top outlet on mine is not attched to anything but a small vacuum line, maybe 2 1/2 to 3 inches long that runs from the front of the pump to the rear of the pump, coming off a nipple that sits 90 degrees off the the top outlet on the pump. The outlet that goes straight forward on the top is not in use. Hope that helps.
