Random steering failure

Just started the drive to work the other morning and as I turned right at the roundabout 1/2 a mile from my house there was a weird, highish-pitched mechanical sound from the engine bay and my power steering failed. Next thing I know I'm almost on the roundabout (luckily my brakes still worked fine)!

A couple of seconds later it was all working just fine and I've had no issues since. Unfortunately Dorris is learning to drive and is now reluctant to get behind Red's wheel in case it happens again.

Weird and a bit annoying.

Got a few days off this week and was planning to spend some time with the car anyway so will check while I'm out there. Hopefully I'll get away with re-tensioning.
