I have a Pure Highway Dab radio. It has a magnetic aerial that goes on the roof and the cable comes in through the door seal.

On previous cars this has not been a problem even with torrential rain.

However, with my Landy, I get rain running down the cable into the car even when only lightly raining.

So why is this happening with my landy but didn't happen with previous cars?

Hold on, we'll just consult the Chrystal Ball

No idea:rolleyes:

been giving this a bit more thought and seem to remember a few threads on water ingress and land rovers , one owner took his back because it didnt leak :D
on a more serious note dont let it get too wet or the doors might ,no will fall off

The Pure Highway is not a permanently fitted radio.

I do have one of those internal windscreen aerials but the magnetic one is brilliant.

I might give it a try and see how good or bad it is. Better than drowning! :)

Fit aerial inside. Problem solved. :)

Un the doors dun't fall oft. Proved it with me videos. :p

ok so here is the answer does your cable come in through the side door if so have the cable going down with a loop on it to come back up and have the up part going over the seal if it is coming in the back door then I can tell you another way if need be

Drivers door.

The cable is not very long but I will see if I can create a loop by moving the window mount for the radio.

The rubber seal on the Landy doors seems very, very soft compared to other cars!

is this for real? mount it inside. or go through the existing radio aerial mount and mastic when putting back together.

3 door or 5 door ?

If 3 door, bring in through the sunroof, bring my beacon cable and/or cb aerial cable in that way never had any problems with it letting water in.

have one in mine, use the windscreen mount aerial, works perfectly well, except in the Dartford Tunnel.

5 door.

Maybe I should invest in a proper radio with dab and a proper fixed aerial.

Ooooh, decisions, decisions.

Do I get a proper radio or do I get a synergy 2????

yep more insurance as they have cottoned on to people doing upgrades to the cars and if you answer no and it is really yes the first bump you have and you will be faced with no insurance your fault or not
