I Have a 2001 freelander and the factory radio/cassette. I can remove it with an allen key but when I did I couldn't find where to plug in my sony xplod MD player head unit into. Is there anyway I can do this as the sony has standard plugs on it and the factory unit hasn't?

Cheers for now

Mark

Get yourself to Halfords and buy a convertor connection, one end will connect to the Land Rover loom and then the other end will fit your Sony head unit.

They cost between £10-£15.

Zippy

I went into halfords and they don't list one of the freelander, i looked at the back of the factory radio and its not got a plug in it but lots of wires with a small plug on each:(

HI, this is a similar connector to that on the BMWs of the same age. Either by a 2001 BMW 3-series adapter; or better still chop the wires out and splice in the correct part.

If you're really serious about it, the ICE harness connects at the bottom of the centre console behind the ashtray, you can get the correct harness from LR parts and just plug it in!

Good luck...
