Hi all, now I no I should no better but I'm at the end of my tether with it, I replaced my diversity radio with 1 from the scrap yard I fitted it and it worked, only the wife tried our old code and blocked the radio so I disconnected it and now it just has lines but won't let me put real code in I no I should leave ignition on first click and wait but surely there's a short cut I removed the unit and waiting but does it have an internal battery in side that I can disconnect to speed it up???? Got some driving to do and need the radio.:confused:

According to the book, the first wrong attempt locks out for 1 minute, second attempt 2 minutes, thrid attempt 4 minutes, forth - 8 minutes, 5th - 16 minutes, 6th - 30 minutes....(max lockout is 30minutes)

Yes you need to have the ignition on (not engine on necessarily) for this waiting period to elapse....

Not sure what battery disconnection will do to the waiting time - maybe if power is cut - you have to wait the full 30 minutes....

Sorry chum, no workaround that I know of....:(

Ahhhh bugger I sort of knew really but it was worth a try lol, the wife doesn't like waiting but thanks for the reply, she has been driving around all day but probably not for longer than 30 mins a time.

Update, forgot to mention that when I spoke to stratstone Landrover for radio code they told me as of next month there are going to start charging £15 for radio and EUK codes (lock out etc) so be warned and ring up now if you don't no ur security numbers for your rangies,
On the plus side after an hour of just ignition on my radio finally let me put code in and now works.
