My landrover defender 300 tdi is a weekend you for mainly pay And play and some laning, bin to a horse show in it today,

I was thing whislt laning it's bloody loud, there's no boxes on it at all from te turbo back and out of the side,

My other half went in suew's tdi 90 and has said to me hers is very very quite well as far as I know it's standard,

We might me buying a caravan and I've recently been doing a fair bit of towing.

I have knocking round a resonator box from a miltek exshaust that I cut out off my wife's golf r32 a quick check and it slots over the tail pipe like it was ment to be and defenetly softens the noise but I don't want to strangle the power from the engine,

And secondly I've Hurd mentioned about moving the exhaust box to the engine or to the rear has an effect on the noise produced, can any one shed some light on this?

there is a couple of v8 wagons kicking about with staight through pipes then a flap is fitted to direct the exhaust through the sillencer when in built up areas and at night, works well

It could be an option if you want to arse about making something

A trip down the scrapers for a suitable inlet butterfly woub work. can be manualy activated

i just poped to my local tyre and exhaust place and asked if they had any new ones there were throwing away and was suprised they throw loads of new stuff so fished me out a silencer that i could make fit and bobs your uncle. and plus it was free Always worth asking and mines a side exit aswell just put it in before the bend and its much better but still loud

I've seen these befor, u can buy a y shaped bit with a solinoid and valve ect, I'm couldn't be bothered with the hassle,

I've got the middle box AKA suitcase from my DISCO 2 TD5 lying in my back yard FWIW. Don't know if you can make it fit if you want it?

Diff.
thanks for the offer but by the time I've collected it or you post it the cost won't be cost effective,

Think ill give the resonator box from a miltek that I have ago, I don't want it that loud if I'm towing a lot befor I dint even do 2500 miles a year so I lived with it,

Well I've gone and done it, it's the 1st time I've ever made any of my cars or vans or bike quiter, ill get a befor and after vid up soon.
