Hi guys.
I'm looking for some pics of the best ways you have found to mount your guns whilst driving across country, easily grabable?.
Also, do any of you have spotlights that can be moved to position from inside the cab other than those mounted on the gun sight itself?

Any pic's of these solutions would be great.

I know there are SA80 mounts out there but not sure if they can be used with standard rifle buts and know they couldn't be used with shotgun barrels.

Thanks.

probably the same as i have on my dog guard.
was thinking to do something where it can sit butt to floor and barrel clamped to dash, or, clipped across top of dash pointing towards side windows.
would need to be good and secure... and as you said, well padded for rough driving.

Been thinking of this myself.

There are a series of various types of gun rack available if you want storage.

From the US/Midway UK I believe you can get a footwell shotgun rack. So you could mount a shotgun in the passengers footwell.

Personally as a quick fix Ive got a magnetic gun rack which sits anywhere I like as long is its magnetic. Though in the long run Ive got a friend of mine building me a gun box/rack that will fit in place of one of the rear seats.

Fitting a spot light to the roof could work if you used a ball joint of sorts with a lever coming into the cab. Or even build a motorized one.

If you find the L85/SA80 mount ill have a look and see if it could easily be adapted for a shotgun/other rifles. Failing that im pretty sure you could fabricate one pretty easily.

On my old defender i had a barrel clamp mounted on the dash on the passenger side - so my rifle or shotgun would stand on the but and the barrel clamp stopped it moving around ;)

Google "quickfist" ;)

cool.
i use a light mounted on rifle right now but can be a nuiscence getting it in and out the side windows without knocking it.
Might also try and make a mount strap to go between morror and door to rest rifle on to drop on target.

You can get 12v searchlights from a boat chanderlery that will mount on your roof and controlled from in the cab and they are totally waterproof
Hope it's of help

don't suppose you have a link to one of these to give me an idea.
Seen something like it on a landy that shot past me the other day and been searching since with no joy.

I'm just looking now and there are plenty of pictures in google images and they are also for sale on eBay I'm looking at a hella light now and the highest bid is £1.04 at the moment

A company in aldershot sell them for £70 they are called pacer marine or visit a local boat yard if you live near the coast

i guess your looking at the remote controlled ones mate.
i'm not sure i could keep up with a shifting rabbit with one of them, was looking for one with a manual handle that comes through the roof!!
