Look on the series 2 club forum workshop section and at the top theres a dedicated 200tdi conversion section.
Got my 200 from e bay took ages waiting for one to come up local to me.

There are about 2 million posts on here - and other landy forums - about this> Given the brakes issue, then the di conversion might be better : "200Di" diesel conversion for Series Land Rovers - by Glencoyne 4x4 (Thetford)

200tdi disco version available regularly on ebay - but often is cheaper to buy a mot-failed D1 - giving you all the anxcilliaries that you don't think of in advance - and giving you the carcass to weigh-in and get most of your money back! Enjoy! :)

thanks BENEAGLES, thats been quite an intersting read, and has answered a whole lot of questions for me, especially the point about the stop solenoid and losing power whilst operating the starter moter,do you think a remote starter solenoid would be any good in place of your suggested 4 pin relay, to switch the live feeds,? as i am having that problem now on my 2.5 n/a and the only way i could get round it was to put a on/off switch with a fused battery fed wire to pump solenoid, this works ok and is an anti theft device, but you have to remember to switch it on before starting engine, thanks Pete

Without changing the gearing in some way it won't go any faster with a tdi fitted, just get to it's screaming top end speed fairly instantly and stay there without any problems up hills.
