quality of matrix and antifreeze

hi

spent the weekend discussing with some companies regarding different quality matrix, be it allmakes, bearmach, britpart etc

some have told me they are not compatible with cars that use oats antifreeze due to there metals and pin holes the matrix

after taking mine out its got pinned holed and has petina on it

the small amount of antifreeze ive got in the hippo is green

by doing some searching i see the colour isnt really relevant but the correct graded oats antifreeze according to my owners manual

i cant understand that if companies are selling these heater matrix why they are not compatible and if these companies are pulling my chain

this is suppose to be the only correct one with the relevent iso spec and accepts oats antifreeze without damage

sorry asking such a daft question but any advice etc on this would be really appreciated plse , will order a new matrix today in order i can start getting the interior replaced

I expect you can use Glycol based antifreeze. LR give a range of anti freeze specs, Glycol is generally one of them.
I use it in my V6 Freelander, MGF and ZS180.

always the way when u think everything is sorted a spanner gets thrown in the works

now thinking do i flush the whole system out and replace the system with all new antifreeze etc as i dont know whats been put i to the engine

as ive got the matrix off dont know if it work by putting a hose pipe down one pipe and flushing it out of the other

due to the matrix being hard to get to just trying the best i can to prevent damaging the new matrix unit and the rest of the system

just bought a antifreeze tester so at least i can see what sort or mixture ive got, but thinking its been fine for the last 4 years and im just worrying to much as usual, lol
