Bugger!

14 hours at work.... Come back and think I might as well take prop shaft off tonight, some of the bolts seem rounded.... But then I realised one has been almost cut in half by the spiny roundy bit - I assume due to the wear on it!

I left it on for the moment. :(

well?

did you do it?
did yu pay someone to do it?
did yu change the UJ's or the propshaft?

:nopics:

now check the other one :D

and dont forget to grease them both very well.

Achhhht!

10 pm last night I lay under the car in the rain and started to remove the prop shaft - it was clear that the amoubnt of damage that had been done was 'mangling' the boilts and nuts were being severed.

So I phones a mate with a car ramp who said he could do it tonight.

Anyway, I went to the shop this morning, who swore blind yesterday that they had the UJs as stock items. When I arrived they only had the £15 extra durable jobs (2 year warranty) - anyway I took two of them and some new anti-roll bar bushes.

We fitted them tonight - to be honest I couldn't have managed on my own - I don't have a workshop and this needed a whole lot of battering thumping and smacking around with the help of a big vice. If I had given it an entire Saturday afternoon with lots of patience and plasters for my knuckles I may have done it. :D
