Hi all

I recently removed the prop shaft as the VCU was making a noise going around corners and am now running the vehicle (Freelander 1) with no prop and its fine, however, I just saw a video on you tube where they were fitting an IRD blanking plate !

I haven't added a blanking plate to mine so where the prop was connected too the engine / gear box its simply spinning when the car is in motion. No oil is leaking so does it make any difference or should I fit the blanking plate ?

Advice please. God I love this forum lol

Cheers Dave

no need to fit a blanking plate just leave it as is until such time you refit the prop
