Problems with winch bumper

Hi all. I've got a landrover 90/defender and I brought a winch bumper for it brand new and fitted it. But now looking at the holes for the winch mounting they are in the wrong place? Has any one else had this problem? The holes seem too far back? The back holes are under the grill area? Almost as if the bumper is for a series instead. Any one else had this problem? And what did they do to over come it?

where did you buy it from
Was it home made or shop bought
Which winch are you trying to fit into it

Etc Etc Saves us having to to get the crystal ball out or making Blood sacrifices..

Is it a bumper for a larger winch perchance?

Is your landy a puma or air con version with the sticky out grill?

It's a 1985 Landy so it's no air con.

I'm not sure on the brand of the winch. As its not written on it? It was free off my neighbour off his van. The mounting holes would line up but the holes are in the wrong place on the bumper?

The answer is in its name , its high clearance so you have to cut your grill.

Yer just got in touch with the bloke and he said that as well. Just was looking for a definate answer before I cut it up.
