power folding mirrors

Hi everyone,

This week my drivers side wing mirror folded but at the end of its travel the motor continued to drive and i could here something slipping inside. I have stripped the thing to bits and have found that the worm gear inside the motor has its tooth stripped for half of its length!

Is it possible to buy the motor on its own, it would be an easy replacement now that the assembly is in bits. i don't want to spend 80 quid on a whole mirror assembly!

Hi,

There's a few threads on here regarding the power fold mirrors. I have just placed an order for two new mirrors from ebay for the same reason. I think the problem with mine is both the motors in the mirrors have gone kaput.

If you can wait a couple of weeks until I have changed mine you are more than welcome to have the worm drive from mine. I can either post it to you or you can collect it if you live near South Wales.
