Hi all, new here.

I'm looking to purchase a RR, preferably diesel. Knowing that in the past there have been some issues, I was wondering how the current model stands up. I guess I'd be looking at an 03 plate - ish with a max budget of £25k.

My question mainly is, what if anything should I look out for or avoid. I'm expecting to have to get something with around 60k on the clock, so I'm guessing it could also get expensive to run? Please correct me if I'm worng.

Other than that, any other advice you chaps can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks . . .

Al.

Try Fleabay auto trader or motormart. and see what they're going for. save everyone having to guess for you.

Thanks for the welcome Redhand. :(

I'm aware of the costs for purchase, as I say, I was keen to find out advice for general running (servicing etc) & what sort of things to look out for that might fail etc etc. Maybe I've joined the wrong forum?

Hi Smudge

I've just bought 03 plate Vogue TD6 with 60k miles, full history and remaining VIP service pack on it for £22k so they are about for the money you want to spend. When i bought mine a very friendly and knowledgeable chap on here, clutchdust, told me to look out for missing digits in the display, unevenly worn tyres, check air suspension up and down etc, listen for rattles from suspension and chec for leather wear around the edge of drivers seat as a new seat cover is £500. Apart from that he says nothing much goes wrong with them, famous last words i know!!

Hope this helps and happy hunting

Hi Nick,

thanks for that. Interestingly I td one over the weekend. TD6 Vogue, the mileage was over what I wanted but I thought I'd take a look anyway. Interestingly there were digits missing on the dash display (something I guess is a costly replacement rather than repair) & rattles coming from the back. However, upon inspection the rattles were where the previous owners kids had left their Nintendo DS games in the centre seat storage compartment! Seeing that you got a Vogue at the money you did makes me think I'll be patient & wait for the right one.

One question Nick, how do you find the sat nav? My boss has a 05 Vogue & the sat nav is the new touchscreen version which seems much better. Is the earlier version dvd based & reliable?

Thanks in advance

Al.

Hi Al

To be honest the sat nav isn't much good, its ok but not great, i have just replaced the disc with a 2006/7 version which does post codes and its still not a lot better. But im comparing it to the TomTom i normally use so maybe its just that im use to something better if you know what i mean. I've enquired about putting the newer touch screen sat nav that your on about in my car but its not a straight forward swap apparently.
