If it was a series or defender sure, but Freelanders aren't known to fall apart by themselves.It probably fell off when he wasn't looking

It's definitely been fitted at some point. I might have a look at mine to see if I can locate where it's supposed to be fitted.

Appears to be a silencer bracket
My last link I posted has a dia seems to go over/around the PAS pipes.
Also seems to fit many in the range of JLR cars.

Yes looking at the pictures it's something to do with the steering assembly on the Ford EUCD derived platform vehicles,, and the JLR D8 platform too by the looks of it.
I'm assuming the OP has a FL2, which is why he's asking about this part.
I'm in no hurry to get under mine to see where it's located, as the OP hasn't been on since the weekend anyway.
