JUST A FEW PICTURES FOR ANYONE THATS INTERESTED, THIS STARTED OUT AS A SMALL HOLE AND HAS TURNED INTO A WINTER PROJECT!

THE PILE OF RUST WAS A PASSENGER SIDE OUTRIGGER AT ONE TIME, THE NEW OUTRIGGER WAS FABRICATED FROM 3MM STEEL, NOT MUCH MORE DIFFICULT THAN BUYING A READY MADE AND FITTING IT.

IF YOU ARE WANTING TO GIVE YOUR CHASSIS A GOOD GOING OVER I CAN RECOMMEND THE NEEDLE GUN SHOWN IN THE PICTURE, IT IS AN ATTACHMENT FOR AN AIR CHISEL(can't spell) GOT IT ON EBAY FOR 14 QUID, MUCH CHEAPER THAN A PROPER ONE, IT TAKES NO PRISONERS SO ONLY TO BE USED IF YOU ARE PREPARED TO GO ALL THE WAY...SO TO SPEAK, IF THERE ARE POTENTIAL HOLES THEY WILL BECOME OBVIOUS VERY QUICKLY WITH THIS TOOL!:

NOT SURE IF I PUT THE PICTURES ON RIGHT:confused:

Not finished yet, did the outrigger in the picture and also the tubular outrigger on the same side so that side is done, the other side needs the same again really, it takes a bit of time so not sure when it'll be ready. Its taxed and mot till dec so when the chassis is complete I'll put it on the road and can do the body bit at a time. Just got it a few weeks ago for £500 so it was quite cheap really, the rest of the chassis is good as is the bulkhead and its 200tdi with 80,000 ..... bargain I think.
Working offshore at the moment so it's good time off for stuff like this. The shed have is good, loads of space, not sure if I would tackle a landy project in a small garage and definatly not outside!

mine was similar , replaced the chassis though , on the drive , in the winter.
mine cost 500 quid as well.

Brave man, doing a chassis swap in these conditions. Don't have the same problems you had with the chassis, seems to be confined to both outriggers and I have already done the rear crossmember so its nearly there. Went over the entire chassis with the needle gun and its pretty good, big surprise there!

Just need to get a few more bits, any idea where to get the body cappings for round the rear tub? They don't seem to be galvanised any more like the older ones were, mine are quite rusty.
