When I fill up the P38 I am getting a positive tank pressure blowing out as I take the cap off. Is this
normal? It's driving fine BTW.

My V8 Disco does this as well. Seems to be worse when the weather is
hot. It does say on the cap to turn it half way and let any excess
pressure out before removing fully. I've started to leave the cap half
open ie secure but still able to vent excess pressure. Stops me
wondering what that annoying noise is when i get out of the car!.

I may have posted this very question before to the NG but can't think
when

EXTREMELY DANGEROUS !!!

What happens if you have an accident or someone walks closely by while
smoking or lighting up on a hot day?

Point taken, have just rushed outside to shut said cap.

But should the tank really build up pressure like this?. Have looked
in HBoL and found nothing. Does the tank have a vent, there are small
pipes on the outside of the filler neck but cant seem to see the other
venty bit.
