My 4203 appears to be knackered somehow (although for the life of me no-one can tell me why ).
Still turns over without noise. Cannot start and run whilst being towed. Will not fire with Easzi-start.
Oil is fine on the dipstick as well as the filler cap, not milky. So I assume there is a compression problem that is related to an oil dump.
Someone hinted at the fact that he injectors may need "bleeding".
So it's either hope that someone has a running 4203 here they are trying to shift,
..... or bite the bullet and go TDI - but I figure as it wont be me doing it, that'll be far more costly.
So if anyone is trying to sell one, please get in contact.

you casn buy disco tdi for £200 dont take alot of fitting in standard series apart from exhaust but you can buy from ebay suitable conversion exhaust down pipe, will bolt up to series box by removing a few bell housing studs, dont have to fit intercooler and use standard rad

Exhaust isn't too big a deal if you can weld. (badly or well)

Of course, if you don't use the disco radiator you then have issues what you do with the pipes which would connect to the oil cooler on the disco radiator.

And if you can get a good engine for £200 on its own well done.

You'll also find a few other problems along the way - but its all doable, just don't believe people when they say you can do a conversion in a weekend.

you dont need to pipe oil cooler just blank filtere housing, ive fitted a few exhaust and air intake and battery relocation only real probs ,+electric fan
