Part Number thats not in the list

Been trying to get a part number for the gasket that goes between the timing case and the block on a defender 200tdi but cant seem to find it from the list in the sticky.

There are 2 gaskets in the sticky.

1 is Err1607 (small gasket) but the other is 538039 which i have googled but still not got a definitive answer.

Tried paddocks and they told me to try Err4860 which i think is for a 300tdi.

Does anyone know the part number for the big gasket or are paddocks right?

I have confused myself now. but found this: Britcar (UK) Ltd > 538039 TIMING COVER>BLOCK GASKET 4CYL>300 (G) which is the part from the parts book. If your sure its the one you want.

why dont you get the gasket kit and then you will have all you need.

The timing kit doesnt come with the block gasket since it doesnt need to come off but the plate is getting removed as there are a couple of broken water pump studs that we are removing and retapping.

I have an order with Paddocks but need a different part number as that code just brings up a washer. They gave me a number that is for a 300tdi so not sure if i can use that.

its ok have sorted it.

Just ordered a bottom end gasket kit from ribble valley. has all gaskets and seals required apparently.
