looks ok but been told its just a wrecking zone for motors.. dont wanna wreck my motor only just got it but would like to see what its capable of..

been down a few green lanes and am familiar with all controls, hi-lo box, diff lock etc.. got bfg a/t's on with bout 6 ish mm tread..

just checked their website and they are hoping to be open if all the ice melts a bit..

cheers for any advice..

i should have been going mate, but decided not to cos im going on holiday in the disco weekend after, and dont want to break anything the week before.

its a great site, very organised, blue and red routes which you can drive, black routes which usually get you stuck, although they wont officially allow you on them in a standard car.

its one oif the best sites around mate so its defo worth going, its not a car wrecker if you stay out of the deep pools (there are a couple of lakes but also lots of deep splashes around the site too) and you avoid the damaging black routes.

some black routes are easy enough with a bit of gusto, but some will requre rock sliders and HD bumpers, or else you'll start removing bodywork.

also watch out on tighter routes cos you can risk smashing alpine lights and bending side roof if youre not very careful round some trees.

i have been there about 6 times and i would say that 80% of the site is driveable without damage, maybe just a couple of scuffs from trees.

the rest is either very difficult to get through without winching, or likely to scrape/break something if yure not protected or dont take it easy.

ideally you go with a mate then you can recover eachother if youre not winching.

definitely worth going, apologies im not going mate :)

I'll no doubt be going to the January one mate btw, I have no issues with sheep either :)

hahahaha....judging from the route you took a few weeks back at Chesterfield.....you'll be dragging the sheep on it's belly all the way....:D

I might be interested for January too, as Parkwood is only 15 min from me :)

if i can finish the job im on on sat i mite come up with a couple of my mates. been quite a few times. has nybody been to kirton off road, went to go a while ago and they had called it off when we got there.

going on sunday, all being well. you'll be fine, you can have a ride round with us if you want, see what's what. the only thing that breaks vehicles at tong is the numptys driving them.

Hello

I ended up laning with kingy and some other folk yesterday, till 9pm :)

That satisfied the driving bug, so I'm now in bed! Hope all that go have a good day today, hopefully I'll make the January date :)

great day.. cheers 3.5 efi for the advice an pointers..
shame bout my side steps.. sure its nothing a big hammer cant fix.. lol...
was interesting watchin the recoveries, and i now know the best way to break towing straps.. lol..
amazed by how much my disco could do.. just have to keep yr head an kno ya limitations..
hope nothing too drastic to fix ya brakes on ya fender..
thanks again..

awesome mate, pleased to hear you had a good crack

tbh if youre gonna do more offroading then you might aswell remove the side steps rather than repair!

cheers, sam

just lookin at rocksliders on fleabay... he he he...
they did stop me damagin me doors though..
gotta go again anyway.. kids seen my vids and demandin to go..

just as a final note, my rock/tree sliders were the best 200 quid i ever spent on that car - tbh they actualy make it possible to navigate the difficult **** without wrecking the vehicle.

very necessary mod.

tree bars work as steps aswell so its a win win.

cheers
