P38 wont start

Hi all
Got P38 4.0se p reg
all been fine till yesterday

turned the key to start and got dash lights on position 1 of the ignition but when i turn it to position 2 it does not show the check engine light that normally lights and goes out as it should as you start it up
so as you click it to start up there is absolutely nothing just the lights on the dash

has anyone got any ideas

sounds like the engine management ECU has lost its security synch with the BeCM. The only way you will get it restarted is to have it hooked up to testbook or rovacom etc and get the code resynched - until then you wont be going anywhere im afraid

have you had the battery disconnected or has it gone flat??

Try new batteries in keyfob as this sometimes happens if they are down

Got it sorted today
£170 at auto electricians
seems water in the footwell has corroded the cables from Becm to the ECU, replced the faulty ones and i am back in business
not sure how the water is getting in though.

I am sure RR delaer would have stung me for a new loom though and maybe a new Becm for good measure, couple of grand for fun hey

anyway cheers for all the help
