I'm running on insa turbo Sahara's 235/70R16 they fit fine but tend to kiss the front mudflap at times if you don't have the mudflap's you should be fine

With that configuration, you are looking at 31.7 mph when the speedo reads 30.

Yeah! Standard is 265/65/16!
That now makes it 31.06 mph when the speedo reads 30.

Mine are 255/65/16 I think that's the standard you got the slightly wider ones no probs there tho

defender, 235/70 R16 actually is a standard size for us poor people with 7" wide rims - all the DT models had them AFAIK.

according to the handbook 235/70/16 or 255/55/16 are the standard size for p38

yep, the former for the 7J (7 inch wide) wheels, the latter [255/65/16 you mean? ] for the 8J (8 inch wide) wheels.

The important part of the 7J - 8J wheel size is that they don't mix well
Previous owner has put the 255/65r16 on my 7J rims and it drove like ****, all that side to side wobbling and bouncing just gets worse. The tires did look good with all that overhang tho.
