Hello to you all,I have just joined the forum after reading many posts on the p38 and the amount of info I have learnt is amazing and saved me a lot of time money and hassle,so a massive thank you to all the forum members who post regular on this site,anyway my question is where is the rear fog light fuse,I can't find it listed in the handbook,I've checked the bulbs and there good and I noticed the light on the dash fog switch isn't working,I know the headlights need to be on for the fogs to work,i am not getting any messages coming up on the dash either also the door mirrors are not heating the motors are moving them no problem but first thing in the morning they are misted up and they wont clear until later on in the day any ideas would be most welcome,many thanks lance

With all your electrics controlled through the BECM I'd suggest that you start with an investigation with one of the powerful plug-ins; a high octane Black Box, a Testbook or similar. I don't know but I'm wondering if the heated mirrors could be turned off for some of the foreign markets. Whilst it's plugged in the fog lights could be tested and if it's not in the BECM then it could just be a faulty switch.

As you're a newbie on here might I make a few suggestions;
Put a location into your details, it would be embarassing for you to find an expert living round the corner but you might never know.
Don't call it a Ranger, that's a farm cart produced by Ford
Slip DATATEK a few beer tokens and get his connection lead and software for the suspension. Buy it BEFORE you need it and his price is less than half of what you'll pay on fleabay. Also on the disc that he supplies is a guide to changing the suspension bags and RAVE, the complete workshop manual.

:welcome2:

AFAIR the rear fogs and the reverse lights have a common earth.Check the reverse lights are working.They also only come on if the ignition switch is turned to position 2 as well as the side/headlights on.I dont remember seeing a fuse specific to the rear fogs.

The mirror heaters should be activated when ever the engine is running.I think they are switched via the door outstations from the BECM.If neither are working check the elements themselves.

A thought,I think the rear fogs only come on if the front fogs are ON.

Heated mirrors are supposed to be on all the time so not related to the rear fogs, my drivers side mirror works when it feels like it, I suspect a break in the loom between the A post and the door. Rear fogs I think work from the BECM so no fuse specific to them. As dogsbody said you need to get it on diagnostics.

Mirrors didn't work on mine untill I put new glasses on as for the fogs I would trace the wiring and check the plugs on the BECM as they can get cruddy and corroded.
