This has probably been asked before but can anyone please advise whether it is possible to replace manual cloth seats with ones which are currently electric, but immaculate leather in the right colour, from my local breaker? To retain them as electric seats does the BECM have to be recoded or even changed or can the leather covers, squabs, etc be changed on the existing framework.

The back one is obviously a straight swap but a cream back seat, albeit piped in grey, and grey cloth fronts would loook downright silly! Not too bothered about the door trims, etc although they are all available from the same car.

There are Low line and High line Becm’s. Low line is without electric seats and Highline is with.
As you look at the Becm fuse box:

Highline has 6 empty fuse slots including fuse 11
Low line has 9 empty fuse slots including fuse 11

A low line will not power the seats.
If you have an early Highline then the chances are it will work if the loom is there.
All newly purchased Becm’s are backward compatible. It is now one does all.
A Becm that is not set for seats will just show fuse failures on the dash even though there are no fuses blown. The Becm has no configurable settings for the seats.

I'll have a look at the fuse box and count the spaces before deciding. If ours is a low line are you sayiing there will be permanent beeps and warnings showing on the dash? (provided the loom is there to plug in of course). I may just have to wait until a set of manual leather ones comes in but we'll see.

Thinking about it i'm sure some of the low line becms have electric seats just without the memory. I think if you have the loom there it will be by direct connection.

Direct meaning without the seat outstaion. You may be in luck. It depends what electrics are on the seat.
