That's a very interesting device. The top hose on the P38 is 34mm. I am using one of these x-engineering x-fan adapters, and today I bought a new switch for it.
This switch turns the fans on at 95°C and turns them off at 90°C

The switch I have in it right now comes on at 93 and its wearing out the fans, they come on too often. I actually burnt out a nice comex/revotec fan.

I think, the M51 has a harder time in the P38 and mine tends to hover around 91 - 92 during normal driving

I wired the twin aircon fans onto a switch and drove up the mountain. With the three fans running, temps were completely under control even under severe duress.

@D2206 that's very kind of you to offer, I think I'm going to leave it be for the moment though, but thanks )

Vauxhall engine?
They had the egr with the alloy manifold and gaskets.
Our @RisforRacingnotReverse has pulled one off our old omega diesel to put on his 2000 38', he has all the holes drilled and tapped on his engines cyl head. :)

Yeah a bit of clear coat and some black paint and it looks better than the plastic one, well in me opinion :p
