P38 Chirping

Driving home tonight, thought I would boot it on a nice hill straight - little bit of wheel wobble then it started chirping squeeking noice - best described as a very loud bird stuck in the grill....

Not breaks as still chirps when breaking
Not belt cos you can rev engine and no noise
coming from the front RH somewhere..

Only chirps over 30mph, but stops when gets to around 60mph
Tone get higher when accellerate - lower when engine breaking

Almost sounds like metal on metal squeel

Pehaps a stone betwwen disk and guard?
or
Perhaps a dry UJ (although this would not just start straight away)

Oil leak on pressure switch fixed so no oil lubricating underneath of car now :doh:

Any Ideas?

I had the same sort of thing come on before and that went from nothing to a lot of squeaking etc did turn out to be front prop UJs done them squeak stopped

I will see if I can get a set from the Main Dealer today then I can swap out Saturday - not an expensive fix...

Last night i heard my Rangie singing this song. Chirpy cheep chirpy chirpy cheep cheep. A record by a group called, Prop and the UJs.

Jacked up a front wheel tonight - rear UJ on front prop fubar - stopped cheeping though.

New ones to be done tomorrow - just need to find 9/16" spanner...

Found a 9/16" spanner, prop off, UJ replaced, prop back on - 3 hours including bacon buttie and tea break

No more chirping, no more vibrations.
