Hi all,
After a month of trolling the internet to try and sort this, I think I need to get some specific advice.
I have a problem with a 2002 P38 4.6. I had a faulty NSF wheel bearing and it finally went bad and I replaced it with a second hand one from a breakers. This got rid of the rumble, but destroyed the ABS sensor, which I replaced. Read the data from it so know new sensor is working.
Since replacing bearing I have had the ABS and TC lights on permanent. I have reset the error on ABS ECU, but it clears but remains when I recheck. Brakes work fine! However I have no ABS or TC!
The error is about the engine speed signal, which I surmise is fed to ABS ECU. When I check for engine speed signal it flickers between 12v and 0v. I think this is a signal from the Camshaft sensor, but not certain. Checking this there is a dodgy connection on the plug. Going to be a bitch to repair as it is car side not sensor.
I have replaced the foot pedal switch and the crankshaft sensor. When I empty the pressure from the accumulator the pump comes on for about 20 secs to recharge it.
Today I tried a replacement ABS ECU and the fault is still there!
I have my MOT in Feb and still have the winter to get though. I would appreciate any advice on diagnosing this if anyone has any insight?
Using an icarsoft i930 to diagnose by the way
Cheers.
