Hi all,

We have just acquired a P38 which was originally a 4.0 SE but has been converted to a 300 tdi. The air suspension has been done away with and is running on springs.

Anyway the problem is with the message centre. It shows 'MAX SPEED 35 MPH' and i assume that this is becuase it thinks has a problem with the air suspension.

Does anyone know how to clear this message?

when the suspension is converted there is a small box that is fitted, it tricks the car into thinking its still running the air but is manually set, the little box should have been fitted when it was converted, think there is a way of tricking it another way, you should get "EAS MANUAL" when you turn the ignition on.

Just look up Rangerovers.net and find the manual air inflation under the P38 trouble shooting guide. No magic box of tricks required, all you have to do is put a jumper wire across two pins in the EAS plug under the passenfger seat. i can't remember which 2 off hand but its given in that help section.

Yeh it does nove. Best of both worlds really, p38 looks with out the gremlins!!!

Not heard of this conversion being done much but to be honest, i dont know why Land Rover did not do it even as an entry level model.

I belive it has a R380 gearbox fitted.

Engine has also been breathed on so its a little quicker than usual.
