You say you don't have the arm button on your key fob? do you mean the lock button? So are you locking the car with the key and then unlocking using the unlock (top) button on the fob? Sounds to me that the car is armed. Have you tried the emergency key access (EKA) code? Have you tried syk the ignition key by turning to position 2 and pressing (normally you have both to individually press) the buttons for a few seconds (keep doing it) until the car unlocks, should then start - battery condition is important. If its just lost synk then someone with Testbook T4, etc should be able to get it going. Was going for my passport before I saw your post that the pic is not you!!

ps: Pqups jus posted this: might be worth a try?

---------------------------------
the cars now back up and running.

when I put the new battery in it popped up saying the key code lockout or something which panicked me but when I plugged in the syncmate that disappeared and the car started so all good!

Thanks for all your help.

Looking over the forum Ive now noticed some other issues with mine like some others are having. mainly around the fuel pump and the engine loosing power when changing gear. Oh the fun the P38 brings lol!

Thanks for the ideas stopover.

Yes my unlock button and contact beneath it has been missing since I bought the car a few months ago. I have been using the key at the door lock to lock-unlock the car. The side light blinks when I manually lock along with the red light binking on the dash. When unlocking with the key, I see the red alarm light on the dash go out so a assumed the immobilizer was switched off. I get no warning on the speedo cluster the the car is immobilized.

I'll try the to get the EKA code from the dealer and try your method in the mean time. I tried unlocking with my remaining (unlock) button on my fob and it functions normally.

The T4 would be nice to have $$$$$ but I purchased the SyncMate (Gems) hopping it would reset my sync, I'm sure they work perfect, but mine gives 1 red flash (communication error).

Yeah that Guinness girl is a fine looking lass.

Cheers.

I'm saving so much cash on unused fuel I can buy more X-mass presents.:D
Cleaned the OBDII pins again but still seeing the red flash from the SyncMate.
Off to the pub for more medication tonight.

Cheers

Dunno but could be a worth a try if it gone into alarmed mode, disconnect the battery, put the key in ign, postion II and reconnect the battery, if that doesn't work. Disconnect, reconnect, lock unlock the doors with the key and then try to start it.

Worth a shot ?

Check the relays under the bonnet, i had the same prob on one of em turned out to be a bad relay cant remember which one.

Are you sure the OBD2 socket is working? Do you have an EAS cable or something else that you can plug in and try just to prove it all works.

I now have a OBD 2 to usb cord I will use. I do have 12.45v with the key of from the Fuse under the bonnet. I will do some more tests today.

Thanks.

Engine ECU, EAS ECU, SRS ECU and BECM all use different pins on the OBD socket and apart from possibly the engine ECU none are OBD compliant.

I would like to confirm that the Becm is getting a data path to the Syncmate on key position 2.

Cheers

Did you say that when you turn the key to position 2 you do NOT see the check engine ligh on the dash? and when you turn the key to position 3 do you only here a click. when key in position 2 what do you get on the display? when the key is turned as to start the engine what is displayed showing then?

have a mate turn the key while you check with your multy meter inline if there is a amperage jump at the battery when key in position 3

there is a chance of 2nd stage lock out of the Becm where it will need unlocking from direct link to its Cpu and if this is the case then thats the reason the syncmate calnt axcess the Becm to resync it.

When i use my diagnostic system if its 2nd stage lock out then i canot get the Becm to talk to my system via the Obd2 port and have to connect to the Cpu on the logic board to be able to reset the system.

If you have someone near to you who can reset the Becm and leave it unlocked for further adjustments this would be another way to go. if after you test to see if any system canot talk to the Becm then id say that was the reason. :)
