Does anyone have any info on this offering
from Donald and his band of 'engineers' in the late 1980's?

I have bought one of these - based on a
87 RR in cypress green - it was converted from new
at a cost of 21000 pounds in 1987.

It has a 6.3 litre stroker motor - originally
on TBI - now carb - has the TH700 Chevy gearbox
and Monroe adjustable suspension - which
is kaput.

It has done only 35000 documented miles
but has some cosmetic issues.

Some Pratt stuck some P6 rover badges on it
and a Bentley badge on the bonnet!!!!!

But never mind - an upcoming light resto will see those
monstrous aberrations resolved.

Here she is.........

I saw that on the auction site and thought it looked interesting.
It might be worth speaking to Damon at Kingsley Cars as I believe he was involved with OF before it turned into a bling bodykit outfit.
He's a nice bloke and its worth a chat.

I've got an original, same year & colour. Assuming it's a Vogue that conversion price would have been only a grand less than the car itself when new! Wouldn't mind the power, but the bling...yuck!

I also have an '88 cypress green RRC and I've got the original invoice. So yes, that conversion cost is almost the same as the car itself! They could have had two RRC instead of converting. Mad!

I don't have the original bill of sale but period sales literature & some really nice colour brochures. I'm only the third owner of the car & have tried to keep it as original as practical, it still has the same no. plates, dealer sticker & tax-disc holder. Unfortunately I've no garage so I'm having the car waxoyled again this summer, although no off-roading use does help keep the mud-traps at bay!

Blimey I wish mine was that original. Had 13 previous owners, about 6 different number plates and even looks like it was welded by all 13 previous owners.

griffman, what does this thing go like with a 6.3 under the bonnet?

I can beat that! Had an '85 several years ago with 15 previous keepers. Interestingly there was no obvious welding, a fair amount of alloy corrosion but no actual rot. God knows how many miles it had done (the clock worked when it felt like it) but it always felt tired & was scrapped after 2 years when the slush-box gave out. Sad really, a bit like having an old pet put down.

The poor thing. :(

I just don't understand how my RRC has deteriorated so quickly. There are better examples that are older than mine!

griffman can you post a bit more, try and push this thread back on topic?

I thought this was a longer wheelbase version. I don't think I have made this up about there being a longer wheelbase Range Rover.
