Hey guys,

I have an odd issue with my headlights!
Bulbs all work etc, but my passenger side headlamp is dimmer than my drivers side one to the extent that the sidelight bulb outshines it!

Tried replacing both bulbs- no change! The bulb holder is falling to bits, could this be the issue? I know the 95 model is fitted with a dim-dip module, could this be faulty surely it would dim both headlamps not just one!

Any help appreciated!

Failing that elecktrickery - earth? I'll leave the lectrickery to someone with more knowledge. I know how to crimp stuff on and change a bulb/fuse and thats about it!

I had this problem with my D1 200, ended up running a new return (Earth) from the head light to the body.

Bad connection, usually earth, but sometimes oxidised connectors and or earth.
remove and replug on the headlamp connector several times, this tends to clean the crud off, if it feels loose that could also be the prob

Have you tried taking the headlights out and giving all the contacts a quick once over with a bit of emery or a fine wire brush.

I had the same issue with mine and did that one afty after several weeks of hitting **** out of the instrument binicle, wiggling the connectors in the headlights and also hitting the fronts of the headlights.

Just randomly thought I'll whip 'em out and have a look - expecting to be lining up to run some earths, but a spruce up did the trick!

I had this. Ran a new earth and replaced the bulb connectors. No electric knowledge required to fix, and bulb holder are only a few quid off the bay of e. Simple fix buddy, don't worry! :)

earth behind the battery tray was at fault on mine, just remade it after cleaning all the lugs and rings.as bright as they will ever be now, hence why i bought a pair of F/O big spots for the A bar.

Thanks guys! I will have a look at the earth and then replace the holders (because the ones I have are disintegrating) saying that both holders are as bad as eachother so hoping it will be the earth

Another quick question, and I know it sounds stoopid, but what type of wire should I use to re-earth them? I have some somewhere that is rated for fog lights (think its 15 Amp?) would this do or o I need to get the old physics books out and do some sums?!
