Hi all,
I've just out on the drive way tinkering (2001 TD4 ES Auto). I intended to disconnect the MAF but could not get the dambed connetor off, it looks like there is a click each side, but i can't release it. Has any one got hint?
So here goes :
1. Pulled out the turbo exit filter, tried to blow through it and couldn't defo blcoked up solid. Left it off. Car now likes to rev right up to 4,500 before changing up, hopefully no more labouring on hills - Hopefully Solved
2. Unclipped the turbo to MAF pipe and cleaned the layer of crap off the MAF with kitchen roll laced in card cleaner. Still have the pause when settings off. Could not disconnect the MAF cable connector. Suspect MAF is fubar
3. Noriced that holding the engine revs at about 1250rpm, the engine hunts up and down about 200rpm each way, but will not hold one speed. This is the range where it runs lumpy and lacks power. Suspect dodgy injectors.
I should try and clean the MAP sensor, EGR value inlet manifold out but didn;t have time today.
Cheer
Dave
