oil seal

just getting my restoration series 2 ready for the mot, and noticed gearbox oil seepage from around the handbrake drum, obviously there must be a oil seal gone on the output shaft, quesion is is it accssable by removing brake drum and shoes?

I think you have to remove the backplate as well. Not certain about it, only remember it was easy to access, but a swine to get out. And I had the transfer box on the bench:violent:

Get a proper oil seal removal tool. I tryed one the other day, a lot better the big screwdriver I have used for years.
