My 96 P38 2.5dse has now started leaking oil. It is dripping off the front bumper on the offside. Oil is on the suspension leg right at the front below the battery. The Intercooler inlet pipe has oil on it, but the oil cooler looks ok. No blue smoke coming out of exhaust so I dont think its blowing through the turbo. Anybody got any helpful thoughts.

Cheers

check oil cooler as it's in vicinity of where front fog lights would go

what you need to do is find the highest point where oil is, then work on that hieght as bieng the level of parts/seal that could be at fault.

remember that as your driving wind will blow oil towards the rear, also if its hit and rotating parts then it could be anywhere.

i had a leak from the oil pressure switch, it is located above the oil filter which was my first instinct. oil was all over the place and it only leaked when the engine was revved. i had to wipe the whole area and get someone(the wife) to rev the engine while i looked.

tedious i know but the method worked for me. mine's a petrol so i can't help on diesels!!!
