Hi folk, been a while since i was on so i'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction,

I have a small pipe which comes from here (see pic 1)

It then travels up to and stops near the fuel filter and the oil filter (see pic 2)

It's from this pipe that i'm getting the oil leak from, should it be connected to something? the only other pipe i can see that doesn't have anything connected to it is this one (see pic 3)

It looks like an axle breather tube to me, as it looks like it is connected to the diff housing.

The filter might be for the EGR vacuum pump, the other end is meant to be open if that is the case....follow the other side of the filter and see where this is connected to - it should be a small electric pump.

hey, third picture is just a mini air filter do with egr system! Correct if wrong.
for the oil leak, I would clean it all down and re assess after a couple of days driving. It looks like everything else is around it is equally oily which suggests another source could possibly be causing it..A Clean and check will tell all. Good luck;)

I've had it cleaned a while back to see exactly where it is coming from, It's deffinately coming from that pipe that is coming from the diff, the oil is fresh oil and a slight cherry colour, I would of thought that it would of been connected to a cooler or something and then fed back to the diff but i can't find anywhere that it's to connect to.

Sounds like the breather pipe and the 'red fluid' is dropping or being splashed on to it then running down ...

Yip that's exactly what it looks like but how to stop it is my problem

Well the thing is ... you haven't found it by looking up ...

So now is the time to look down ... wash the engine and bay with a solvent, after drying it with an air line or such, (I'd dust the area with talcum powder cos it works), take the vehicle for a spin as it may be a very small leak that is wind driven back to where you are seeing it ... the red colour will probably steering fluid ...but someone will correct me if not ...

Plenty free talc available over on the airbag post, no suggestion it's anything other than pure:D
