Hi all,
Trying to track down a power problem on my TD4 tonight and stripped the air intake piping, including EGR etc.
Was surprised at how wet with oil it was - it was dripping in some places.
This was in the pipes post turbo - pre air filter it was dirty, but not oily.
The EGR valve itself is so gunked up, it was jammed shut, not a bad thing though.
Is this amount of oil normal?
I have also inspected the depression valve filter and it is hard with gunk. I assume this was a sponge type filter and should be soft?
Just wondering if I have a pressurization problem blowing oil into the turbo?
Will get a new valve assembly on Monday anyway...
After giving everything a quick clean, the engine seemed to run better, but the power loss is still there.
Cheers
