oil change and filter choices

so I'm about to go ahead and do a service on my discovery 2 td5 2001 which was bought last month with 84k on the clock. my question is what is the best brand 5w30 oil to use?
is using expensive oil really worth while?
and should i fit a genuine land rover filter kit that is more expensive or just simply order a 'premium' filter kit from paddockspares
i saw this one and thought it looked pretty decent?

Those are decent makes and I'd be happy with them.

what about oil? any particular recommend make?

I've used all the brands over the years and even mixed them, never found any difference but then I haven't a clue on what is difference I should have found, as long as it meets the vehicles manufactures spec I would use it..

I use Bearmach ones for them all.
